One of the biggest airlines in the Philippines is Cebu Pacific. The company has a massive domestic infrastructure and has many international routes. It would be fair to say that the company has very little competition and therefore takes lip service to customer service. However, one of the interesting facts about traveling on a Cebu Pacific flight is the in air competition.

Most flights have a moment where the crew get on the PA system and tell passengers that they can now join in the competition to win a pen, toy plane and items of that cost range and that useless too. The first reaction is that why are they doing this? Who would want to play a silly game on a flight? Why on earth are they doing this?

As soon as the competition starts, and to be honest it is more like a childrens game at 15,000 feet, the crew ask really simple questions or ask silly tasks. “Who has a pen in their pocket?, Who can sing happy birthday? Who has a phone that is red?

Most of us seasoned passengers just look and listen in bewilderment as once the task is set, or the question asked, hundreds of ADULTS sheer and wave hands in the air and try to answer the question or complete the task with urgency. These are ADULT passengers shouting and waving hands and staring with urgency to win a toy prize on a flight. Only in the Philippines.
